The West Coast League (WCL) is the highest competitive league for youth in the U14-U18 divisions in the district and includes teams from across Vancouver Island. The WCL provides teams the opportunity to qualify for the BCSA A Cup Provincial Youth Championships. The league runs from April through June.
Good afternoon coaches!
Hello and welcome to the Competitive WCL Tier 2 season!
Before we get started this season, I’d like to take a moment to say thank you for your time and passion in volunteering as coaches and managers for this season’s tier 2 league. Your commitment to the development and success of our young athletes is truly commendable.
The divisions this season have been blended in some instances for cross-divisional matches to ensure maximum playing time whilst providing diversity and prioritizing player development. Matches against the same age teams count towards official standings (you’ll play home and away against each of those teams). The matches against other aged teams will be considered “Crossover” matches and won’t count towards seeding. All teams make the playdowns. Quarterfinals, (if necessary) will begin June 8/9, Semi-Finals on June 15/16, with the playdown finals on June 22nd/23rd. We may look for one organization to host all finals for more of an “event” type feel.
As you begin this journey, please keep in mind a few important points to ensure a smooth and successful season.
Do not worry if you cannot log in as it is giving some coaches trouble, there is nothing on it you require for your season that you cannot find on SpAppz or the district website www.uisa.ca
As a reminder, all coaches are expected to have completed the following:
REMINDER: Spring Tier 2 is not an opportunity to influence player decisions for the Fall. Any coach or club found to be actively recruiting player for the fall via the Tier 2 programming will be removed immediately and disciplined subject to the UISA Recruitment Rules and Regulations and BCSA Judicial Policy
Please refer to our website for all other resources and more information such as the Rule of Two, Guidelines, schedules, standings and more www.uisa.ca
As always, remember that your duty to your athlete’s development and well-being comes first and foremost, which may be lost at times during the highly competitive season. Please emphasize respect, fair play and fun and always adhere to Code of Conduct.
Once again, thank you for dedication and commitment and we look forward to a positive, fun, and challenging season ahead. Best of luck to all teams!
*For those administrators that have yet to send in your rosters and team officials, please provide that information to us ASAP and forward this email to them so they are prepared for their season.
