We would like to invite you to participate in the Carleton Coaching Survey. We are trying to understand more about the experiences that different types of children have in sports and how these experience relate to coaching styles, as well as other characteristics of coaches (e.g., ideas about children’s social development, personality, and team goals). Studies such as this one may help improve the training of coaches and inform parents to choose extracurricular activities that may most benefit their children. This research project has received approval by the Carleton University Research Ethics Board-B (Clearance # 106249).
This online questionnaire will take less than 15 minutes to complete. Anyone can participate in this study, permitting they have coached a sports team within the last 12 months. Participation is completely anonymous, and there are no risks associated with participation in this study. Although there is no compensation for completing this survey, please consider participating, as this research will really help us further our understanding of the benefits of extracurricular activities for children’s development. Also, if you know any other coaches, please feel free to forward this email on!
