UISA Super8 Jamborees November 11 Canceled

UISA has received a very mixed response to our Nov 11 Jamborees, with some teams keen to go, some not participating at all and a few individuals submitting strong expressions of disapproval for programming on Remembrance Day.  Unfortunately, issues with the date were not raised in either the June or August Tier 3 steering committee meetings where the club representatives and UISA met to make season planning decisions, nor when season dates were circulated to all coaching staff at the beginning of September, which would have allowed time to make adjustments to accommodate.
Now that issues have come to light, the UISA board and office staff have consulted with your hosts at Campbell River and Oceanside and come to the decision that due to the reality of club teams who are against programming on Remembrance Day and lower number of participants remaining we will cancel both Jamborees.
At this time, we do not anticipate that another opportunity for the Pacific Development Jamboree format will be programmed into the 2018-19 season.
